National History Museum – the neighbourhood of Boyana, 16 Vitoshko Lale Street (open summer time 10:30am – 6:15pm; winter time 09:30am – 5:45pm, seven days a week)
The National History Museum presents Bulgarian history from ancient times up to the present day.
The first floor displays items from ancient times to the Middle Ages and includes gold and silver treasures (the treasure of Panagyurishte, for example), ceramics and archeological artifacts.
The second floor is dedicated to church art, the culture of the Bulgarian Renaissance of the 19th century and it displays costumes, carpets and rooms furnished in the style typical of that period.
